Heart rate and heart worm testing Hi everyone, I went to the Petco clinic with my puppy, Moki. He is currently 6 months and 4 weeks old (not exactly 7 months yet). The vet checked him out and took some blood for heartworm testing. The results came back negative, then I went home and I read online that only puppies older than 7months can take the test with accurate results. He has been on Heartgard for 4 months now. Should I redo the test or do you guys think it is accurate enough? I don't really want my puppy to get stick with the needle again if I don't have to. The vet didn't talk to me or ask me how old he is, I assume they have it on file or if it won't work they will tell me. Another thing I'm concern with is on the results it also states his heart rate is 96 and respiratory rate is 20. I google it and it said normal puppies are suppose to be 120. Should I be concern? It has always been around 120 before like around a month ago, that is why I google it because it seem so off from all the other times. Thanks in advance for all the suggestions. |
