Eating too much Good morning! I've previously posted before - my dog had a dental last week and lost 13 teeth. Apparently he had a few missing due too...he bounced back super well and isn't having any issues (thankfully as I was worried!). The problem is that Toby doesn't seem to ever be full. He wants to eat, eat, eat. Before his dental he would eat kibble in the morning and at night. Right now, he's eating softened kibble (same amount) but no treats. I tried the wet food but he was begging for that constantly and the feeding guidelines said he would need 3-4 bowls a day. How do structure his feeding? I guess he was in some pain and maybe that's why he didn't have a huge appetite. I do have a larger fella - 12lbs. He does need to lose a little weight but the vet said he's just a bigger dog. I can't deal with the barking constantly for food, but also have to be mindful that he can't just eat everything he wants. How do you keep your dog from overeating? |
Try frozen green beans, they are a filler, but no calories. My boy LOVES his french cut green beans and he's a 12 pounder who LOVES to eat lol. |
