my baby has worms?!?!?!?!?! Ok, I think that my little baby who's 11 weeks old has worms but I'm not quite sure. His poo have been pretty small lately, about the size of two marbles. I have noticed that he's not using his mats to poo anymore, only to pee. So he just does his business anywhere on the floor. Just now, I found some tiny brownish yellow "thing" in his poop and I'm quite concerned. This morning he seems to be rubbing his bottom agaisnt the floor but I had noticed that he had poo stuck on his bottom, thats why he was rubbing it agaisnt the floor. He's also really hungry nowadays. Do you think I should get him dewormed asap? Last time he was dewormed was about two weeks ago. I read from somewhere that puppies should be dewormed every two weeks until they are 6 months, is that true?? |
Dogs And Cats Only Get Worms Either Form Thier Mother In The Womb, Fleas And Eating Poop Where There Is Eggs Or Worms In The Poop. Did You Deworm Him From A Vet? We Tried Over The Counter Stuff And We Later Found Out That It Does Not Work. My Baby Had Tape Worm When He Was A Puppy And We Had To Take Him To The Vet. The Worms Die Almost Instantly One Or Two Poops And They Are Gone. If You Still See Worms Than Yes He Needs To Be Wormed. My Dog Also Did The Sliding Across The Floor When He Had Worms. The Vet Says That They Feel Them Wiggling And Poop Out A Little And It Itches And Sometimes You Just Think That They Have Poop Stuck To Them. Go See A Vet. It Dosen't Cost Much And Most Vets Give You Extra Dewormer For Your Other Animals So You Don't Have To Pay Another Vet Visit. Good Luck Let Me Know How It Goes :d :d |
last time he was dewormed was the day i bought him, the owner dewormed him. its been about two weeks. the deworming medicine that she used was called "strongid t." |
That Is So Funny That You Said That We Got Or Baby And The Breeder Said I Dewormed Him But I Will Deworm Himone More Time Before I Pick Him Up. I Remember Thinking To Myself That Was Crazy Why Would You Deworm An Animal Twice If You Just Did It. I Have Never Heard Of Those Meds But I Could Look Into It For You And See If It Something A Vet Gives Or If It Is Over The Counter. |

I get my wormer from the vet. You can order it in HUGe amounts from a pet supply store, but I dont need the amount you have to order........Maybe if I had a heard of great danes......LOL My vet prescribes Panacur......it covers all worms and is given in 3 days intervals. What I have noticed about typical over the counter wormers is they dont cover all worms...........you want them all nipped in the bud.... |
At only 11 weeks old - I would take him to see the vet and let him tell you what to give him - he's still a little baby...Good luck !! |
no wormer kills all worms Just a note: No wormer kills all worms. Generally if a dog need more than one worming we rotate the wormer because often they kill different kinds of worms. Strongid and Panacure are good brand that vets recommend. I have treated my yorkie with Panacure and it worked. Both of these brands are used with horses as well. I have had horses all my life and equines always have worms, so unlike dogs they must regularly be wormed. We rotate between these two brands so that we kill a larger variety of these nasty little things! :aimeeyork |
Ihave a question about worms. The vet found that my dog had them on his last visit and he gave him something there but didnt give us anything to take home to treat him. Does one dose do it? |
paiste? hmmm... i dont know, sometimes with horses a paiste is used. Panacure and Strongid come in both paiste and powder, and I believe the paiste is stronger. I would give your vet a call just to be sure. |
