Hip and Joint Supplement Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good hip and joint supplement with glucosamine? I have been reading its a good probiotic to give middle age dogs to help alleviate joint and hip pain. |
I give mine Milk Bone Vitamins joint supplement |
A joint supplement and probiotic are two different things. I use a joint supplement called dosoquin that was recommend by the orthopedic surgeon that has done surgerys on my girls knees. |
I have always just only used Ester-C for all of my dogs regularly & none have ever had a problem with arthritis in their later years. I have had many senior rescues some have been arthritic & as soon as I started the Ester-C their symptoms went away. |
Many vets (and human docs too, btw) will no longer recommend a hip/joint supplement bc the proof is just not there that it does a single thing to really help. But if you want one anyway, Cosequin seems to be the best one out there and at least has some literature to back it up... |
Thanks all |
I started out on Cosequin and as my seniors aged and got stiffer and stiffer, I advanced up to Glyco-Flex III. It works wonders and I would not be without it ever again! I use Glyco-Flex III for my 15-17 year old seniors with hip issues/arthritic joints....this stuff is FABULOUS!! These seniors run around like they were 10 years old with no "stove up" joints!!! I ran out for 3 days until my new bag came, and on day 3 without the Glyco-Flex, they were not moving around the house, just laying in bed, stiff as pokers.....I keep TWO bags now so I dont ever run out again! |

Try looking into green lipped mussel powder and make some bone broth too. Golden paste is also great for reducing inflammation. |
Thank you for the reply. Not sure if I can find those items here, we live near Guadalajara in Mexico. I will try to source those items soon. Thanks again. |

Wylie's mom is correct that there is no scientific proof that supplements work for joints. Cosequin and Dasuquin are two good brands, but I love Nature's Farmacy, and I purchase all of my supplements from them. I use Phyto-Flex just as a preventative measure because I have a very athletic little girl. I am not an affiliate member of Nature's Farmacy, so I don't profit from recommending them other than to be of help to others. I love their Probiotic Max, Chelated Colloidal Silver, Cornucopia, multivitamin, and so many of their other products. https://naturesfarmacy.com/canine/ph...hyto-flex.html https://www.chewy.com/nutramax-dasuq...ealth/dp/35838 |
