Pink spot on nose? Hi Everyone! My yorkiepoo, Lola, seems to have a mysterious pink spot on her nose. I've googled and googled but can't seem to find an answer. She has a normal energy level and eats everything in her bowl right away just as normal. It seems to be bothering me a lot more than it is her, although come to think of it she has been rubbing her face with her paw. could it be seasonal allergies or something? I think I attached photos right. :) ignore our very wet fur, we just had a bath but just incase not here are links http://sarahnaft.com/Lola/one.JPG http://sarahnaft.com/Lola/two.JPG |
Oh wow - that sure indeed is a major pink spot! I can't think of what that would be from, but I think I'd want it checked by a vet since it's just so blatant for that area. Wish I had some ideas for you, but I don't...someone else may though... |
I would definatly have it checked by a vet. There a certain conditions that can cause the skin on the nose to turn pink or lighter colors. I would have it checked just to be safe. |
I'm a firm believer in having mysterious things checked by a vet ASAP |
One of my Yorkies had something which looked like that but it wasn't on her nose. It turned out to be a harmless cyst and it went away on its own, but personally I would have anything like that checked by a vet - better safe than sorry I always say. |
I agree with everyone above about having the vet take a look. Probably a benign cyst of some sort, but being on the nose, could be uncomfortable and could lead to a bigger problem if not treated. |
I'd agree that you may want to have it checked out by a vet if you're concerned. Is the pink spot just coloration, or is it raised? I had the same momentary concern with Casie when she was 5 months (momentary, because the spot is now gone). She had a pinkish spot in the same area of the nose (not quite as big or as bright pink, but rather the typical discoloration you see in dog noses). Then one day, when I wasn't noticing it for a while, it disappeared. It's been gone for good and she's 8 months now. I wasn't sure what caused it to be there or what made it go away, but sure glad it's gone! |
