Milk thistle side effects? Chewie got one yesterday afternoon for the first time.. and then we started her this morning on an empty stomach as indicated before food. She didn't really want breakfast and chowed down on lunch after I switched back to her z/d kibble. Her stool was really strange, the second one. it was a bit yellowish and had a speck of blood, lots of goo. I keep looking up milk thistle and mucous in stools, but I am coming up short. She's been constipated for a very long time, and the z/d has been clearing her out, which I'm sure is the speck of blood- her rear end must be pretty sore from going all the time. But the goo is new. I hope it's from clearing out toxins. |
Mine are on a liquid Milk Thistle and have been on it for at least 10 years....no side effects, nothing weird, nothing unusual, etc. |

Interesting. Never once have I seen mucus or blood in her stool. now the blood I'm quite sure is just from simple irritation; it was a spot- and she's been going for awhile since switching over to the easier to digest food. it's been good for her on that end. The doctor called me back about 10 minutes ago and said that it can be normal and gave me the usual yada yada about liquid stool. I finally saw that toxins can clear out, but I totally believe that you haven't seen it. Seems to be a rare thing. More than likely she's stressed and she very well might have IBS on top of the MVD. Who knows? She certainly has enough GI issues. I won't worry too much unless this continues. She's playing and finally eating better, so, I won't worry. Thanks, Yorkiemom. |
