My little one is poorly
 

Holly is now 28 months old, she weighs 4lbs and is now the boss of our house. After breakfast today she vomited everything up, then went and hid herself away. Since then she's had periodic shakings and is panting a little. I've kept her warm and well hydrated and very close to me, (she's a confirmed serial cuddler). She was fine yesterday and has not been outside for 48 hours due to the constant rain we've been experiencing. Has anyone had similar experiences? I'm aware that her little constitution needs watching carefully, normally she's full of life and whilst I don't want to rush a vet's visit unnecessarily - I'm a little worried?

Hmmm, odd. Was it a new/different food and/or a new bag or anything? Has she been around any other dogs where she could've caught a bug in the last few weeks...?

Hello there, yes it was a new brand of food to her. Crystal has had the same but is fine. However she is a real 'Tiger Tank' with a robust constitution and a really strong little girl generally. Holly has slept a lot today, but seems a little better, her eyes are bright, her nose dry, but not wet and I am keeping her warm.:aimeeyork

Poor little Holly, she's just adorable as is Crystal. Hope this is just one day reaction to the new food and will be better as the day progresses.

Last night around midnight and 14 hours on from her distress she took as much boiled chicken as I'd let her have. Prior to this she'd been shaking spasmodically? Within twenty minutes of eating she entered a gentle sleep and the shakes stopped. This morning she had a poop, which was very firm almost dry. Her little bum was very open afterwards and she had a few 'candles' hanging down. I bathed her with warm water and then applied some Vaseline. She then had some chicken strips and freshly boiled rice - and wanted more. I have also noticed this morning in the bright sunlight that the facial fur around her eyes was tinted pink, perhaps more evidence of the diet not being right?

My wife has been away for the last two weeks visiting her folk in Belarus and is not home until a week tomorrow. Holly desperately needs a trim at the moment. She has a soft curly coat and is difficult for me with one arm to keep knot free. Also the rear area needs cutting to save her distress after her toilet. Accordingly therefore, she's off to the trimmers tomorrow to alleviate her stress and keep her clean, as she now seems settled with her tummy problem, which I can only put down to the food brand change not reacting well with her? She's also grumbling at her sister again, a welcome return to normality. After the 'bidet' treatment she's now gone off to her little 'occasional' private basket with a very forlorn look on her little face:biewergirl:

Great to hear Holly is getting back to her normal naughty lil self lol. Hope she continues to get back on the health path.

I've really missed her sharp little bark and scatter-patter rack feet on the laminate. Still in the 'lifeboat' basket two hours on, but lifts her head to watch me whenever I look in. I think she definitely wants to avoid a repeat of the 'bidet' treatment at all costs!:eek:
