My Sophie girl is real picky on eating I have had my Sophie girl for about 1 year and she was 5 months old when we got her. She is really picky with dog food and I have tried multiple brands and finally found Science Diet Small Dog and Toy Breed that she eats decent. She loves when we occasionally give her boiled chicken breast and will practically inhale it. Is there any other good dry foods that maybe would work for her? The previous owners had her on Kibble and Bits and chicken breast. It's a real struggle to get her to eat her dog food. |
Hey there, my bunch also fussy so I tried royal canin mini exigent and some tinned appetite enhancer sometimes. Sometimes a scrambled egg, chicken or chicken livers too. My maltese was the fussiest but seems to eat the mini exigent with no problems |
Do you have other dogs? My yorkie, Tori, must have felt threatened by our other yorkie who was a big eater. Eventually she started going in her crate and would wait for her food there. She's done that for ten years and most of the time she won't eat unless someone is "watching" her. She's still not a big eater unless she wants to, otherwise you can forget it until she's ready and she'll start barking. |
What type of appetite enhancer have you used that was successful for Yorkies? I want to check into this. |
You could try sprinkling Parmesan cheese onto her kibble. Otherwise, why not always have shredded chicken on hand and mix in about 15% into her meal..? |
We just recently added a male Yorkie Puppy to the family and he is eating everything you put in front of him lol. She seems to want everything he is eating. She's just a picky eater for everything but actual meat. |
It's royal canin appetite enhancer That's what the tin says. Seems to have worked when my boy wouldn't eat.;-) |
