Possible liver stunt Hi, I'm new on here. I have a 15 week old baby Yorkie. He has healthy and last week he received some vaccinations but not lepto as of yesterday he started having seizures. I rushed him into the Dr. He had a full panel done and his liver enzymes are perfect. We are checking for a liver stunt. The results won't be in until tomorrow. He didn't show any signs of Problems before his shots. I have read all about liver shunts and he definitely never presented any of the symptoms. If his test comes back negative on the liver shunt what could this be? I have searched for some answers. Has anyone had anything like this? He's currently at the vet and had an episode earlier today. I'm worried and confused! |
What shots did he get? Did he get the rabies shot at the same time as everything else? How big is this baby....weight? Just searching for answers now....this is so very unfortunate....bless your heart and bless this baby's heart.... Strictly guessing here....possibly way toooo many vaccines at the same time, for the size of baby....some can tolerate it, others, best to stretch it out....notify your breeder immediately and let her know what has happened.... You didnt get the lepto and you thought to mention that...this is good, because that would be MY first suspect! Hopefully, vet did not pile a rabies shot on top of all the others....that injection is the same dose they give all dogs, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes....I always tell my new owners to hold off on rabies shots until baby is 6-8 months old, to get some size on them first. Praying for your little soul.....waiting for results from test....please let us know what happens.....we really do care! (And be sure to contact your breeder immediately and let them know there is a problem!) |

Possible liver shunt Grizzly had 3 vaccinations can't remember what ones but not rabies. I will know the results on his liver shunt tomorrow. He looked good tonight. He ate and wanted to run around. My vet wants him to see a specialist even if his test is negative. I'm just not convinced. I'm praying he doesn't have any seizures tonight. I'm worried and want him healthy. My last Yorkie boy was 13 and I had to lay him to rest due to kidney failure. I did everything I could for my sweet baby and plan on doing the same for little Grizzly. |
