| L4Pups | 10-28-2015 06:20 PM | Found A Few Black Scabs on Walter's Back Joined the forum in September and received a lot of good advice on adding a new Yorkie puppy to the family. I now have Walter, age 4 and Abby, 6 months. Since my last post I discovered a lump in Walter's neck which after needle aspiration was found to be reactive hyperplasia. He was prescribed an antibiotic and an anti inflammatory for 14 days. The Vet wants to check him when he is through with his round of antibiotics. The swollen lymph node is now completely gone. Around this same time Walter was groomed and his hair was cut down to less than 1 inch. Since all this happened, I have discovered 3 black thick scabs on Walter's back. He doesn't scratch them and they do not seem to bother him. But they bother me as I am a worrier. I am wondering if Abby the pup could have caused these as cuts or scratches when playing. The two do an awful lot of rough housing and W's hair is extremely short. Tomorrow, Abby is being spayed, however, I won't have a chance to speak to the Vet as she will be operating. I intend to take Walter back to the Vet for a check on the lymph node and will show the scabs to the Vet. Just wondering if any of you on the forum have experienced anything like this on your Yorkies. Sorry to be so long winded. Any information is appreciated. |
