new dog eating Ceeby's food!! Help/
 

I got a new yorkie today. She is on another thread. She ate all her food and Ceeby's too. I put Ceeby some more down because he has been sick and not eating well. I just left the room and she has gobbled his food up again. It is a diferent kind. She is on Ceser's puppy food (for her coat) and a boiled egg. and then dry food. The lady sent her dinner home with me. I only gave her part of her can of Ceser's and her egg. Do yorkies ever eat a whole can of Ceser's at a time? She only weighs five pounds. Two cans of Cesers a day seems like a lot. I am supposed to put the wt food down twice a day and free feed the dry. Help, what am I going to do.

you'll need to feed your baby seperately from her.

I have a 5 month old (3lbs) Yorkie girl and she eats a whole thing of Little Ceasar's in one sitting and then will pick at dry dog food throughout the day. I wouldn't worry about it. How old is your new addition?
As for Ceeby, I would put him and his food in a seperate area where your little one can't gobble it up on him and then if he doesn't want it, put his food up until he wants it.
You might have to start a feeding schedule and seperate them at feeding time because it sounds like your little one is gobbleing all the food up so that Ceeby won't get any.

I had the same problem with Scout when I first got him as a 12 week old! He would eat all his wet food, then gobble down picky Pippa's. I left down Royal Canin puppy 33 all day to nibble and fed them Science diet wet at night. Scout started getting really chubby, so I started to eliminate the wet feedings. Now they both feed on the Royal Canin puppy 33 only. I still do the puppy because Pippa's picky and needs the calories. You sure don't want to change what Silk is used to, though because she's older. You'll probably have to feed Ceeby separately for awhile. I think they will settle in and it won't be a big issue after awhile.

I wpuld give her the egg and 1/2 a can and then leave the dry food out all day and see what she does..

I just called the lady I got her from and she said to only give her one fourth plus half of the egg. OOPSSSS But she laughed when I told her how much she ate because she was afraid she wouldn't eat for me and when I first put her food down she wouldn't. I am used to leaving ceeby fresh food all day long (but changing it so it's fresh) and this little dog is on a twice a day wet plus free dry. So I might have to start doing that with Ceeby and staying in the room. They are gated in the living room and my living room is only 14x16 so not a lot of room to separate them but it can be done. Thanks for the advice. Oh, I almost forgot, she is four.

Thanks, my hubby is concerned about the high protein diet (egg and puppy food). He breeds Field Champion Beagles and used to feed a high protein dog food because of all the running the Beagles do, they need the energy. We had a couple die that the vet said was caused from the high protein dog food. So, I might stop her egg. Not sure yet.

We have to separate Chachi and Jewels when we give them the Lil Caesars or Chachi would eat it all.

Funny thing is, this adult dog has been raised on puppy Ceser's and that is what she is still eating with her egg. Ceeby hates any kind of puppy food, Ceser's included, so he has the adult food. When this little gal gets more used to her surrounding, I am going to try to get her and Ceeby on the same stuff and schedule.

I would get her off the puppy food and on an adult food. And there are other things yyou can do for her coat like add Missing Link to her food. You just sprinkle it on. I get it at Petsmart. It has Omega 3 fatty acids in it. Its good for their skin too.

her dry food that is free fed is adult BUT, it is Diamond. I questioned the lady about it and she said she went straight to the feed mill and asked them about it and they assured her it is safe and comes from a different plant BUT, she is still fixing to switch her dogs. Yorkies are all she breeds but shows Maltese , poodles and yorkies. She is the largest customer for dogs in the county. SOOOOOOO, I went today and bought two bags of Science Diet Nutro Natural something. I don't have the bags in front of me. She loves it and Ceeby is eating the puppy dry. His is beef and hers is chicken and rice. All the ingrediants sounded good. Lots of veggies. Only thing, the kibble for her is big so i actually ended up putting it in the food processor and then putting it on top of this little bit of diamond she has left. Another plus, I bought the puppy Cesers for her and Ceeby loves it. he wouldn't eat it when I tried it before. he ate half a can and she only eats one fourth at a time (i overfed her last night) so I am glad because Ceeby really needs the puppy food. So, I think we are on the right track. I will only set the wet food down twice a day and sit between them. Silk gobbles her tho and Ceeby is a slow eater. But at least he is eating.
