Allergy Help Needed i have a 7-month old yorkie. she scratches herself all the time as though she is itchy. the vet said it is allergies and to change her food. i have tried three types of kibble, and oils for itchy dogs from Nature's Inventory. Nothing is working; any ideas?! I am now cooking for her, which I don't mind. But it too, is not stopping the itch. |

My understanding is that food allergies represent a very small percentage of dog allergies. More often it is environmental or secondary to another health problem. If you have access to a dermatologist specialist, it would be worth the visit. You would likely save a lot of aggravation and money in solving your baby's problems. |
Hi and welcome to YT :). You're probably not seeing results from changing foods bc food allergies are actually very rare. It's wayyyy more likely you're dealing w/ an enviro allergy like dust, pollens, grass, trees etcetera. If the itching is this bad, it's affecting quality of life and you should medicate - there are a lot of options. Read here for more info: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html |
