Vaginal infection? 1 Attachment(s) Hey there, Looked through some of the forums and tried searching but didn't see exactly what I was looking for. My little yorkie (Sasha) has developed what looks like a rash on her labia (I think that's what it is called). As seen in the picture, it is very red and looks like brown spots. Has anyone seen this before? They appear reddish-brown and only on the outside of the skin around her vagina. Looks like a rash of sorts (or maybe a yeast infection???) Also, I noticed the hair protruding from around her vagina has a yellowish/greenish color to it now is not normal for her. I don't check her there often but I just happened to notice today when I was giving her a belly rub. One thing to note, I did give her a bath today (using the normal doggie shampoo I normally use) because she decided it would be fun to rub herself in some doggie poo. She only got it on her saddle coat near her coat but I noticed and put her in the bath. Why she does this is beyond me.... Thanks for any help and insight. Brian |
Hi Brian - welcome to YT :)! That does look quite red and unusual to me...so I honestly would recommend a vet looking at it in case there is some inflammation of some sort. Any better today? |
Still the same.... No, it still seems to be the same today. I did notice she is starting to scoot which is not normal for her. I have made an appointment for next week as that is the earliest I can get in to see the Dr. Any thoughts on wether or not I should try a topical anti-bacterial that I was given for my other dog's ear infection? My second dog (morkie) has floppy ears and once had an infection in her ear (black goop)... -b |

My mistake Sorry, it isn't an antibacterial, it is an antibiotic... Not sure if that makes a difference. The earliest appointment I could get is Wednesday. It doesn't seem to bother her much at the moment but if it worsens I'm taking her right in. I am also on the list of cancellations for an earlier appointment. |
