Inguinal hernia back again? 2 Attachment(s) Georgia was spayed June 25th (about 11 weeks old) and had an inguinal hernia repaired was because of the hernia). June 30th she had a check up and it was repaired again (came through gap). Last night after checking her up it seems like its back again. Can this be? The vet opens in an hour and I'm going to make an appt. This is of her standing. She is peeing and pooping normal and has so much energy. If shes not sleeping on my lap shes in her Richell pen. It doesnt go in when I gently push. I'm hoping that its just swelling. What do you guys think? Does anyone have any experience with a situation! like this? Attachment 406420 Attachment 406421 |
It does look like it could be swelling to me. I had a kitten with an inguinal hernia and his would swell like that if he was too active. Still, it is best to have the vet check it as soon as possible. Swelling can also be caused by infection. Keep us posted on how she's doing. |
Thank you for the reply! She has been on amoxicillon since June 25th (twice a day) and on Metacam for pain. The incisions look good. My vet opens in 15 minutes. |
We just came back from the vet. They did an ultra sound and its just fluid. They drained it and I need to massage it gently at home. |
I'm glad to hear the hernia didn't come back! She should mend soon and be back to her spunky self. |
Poor sweet lil baby, 11 weeks old, so hard to keep them quiet. Thank goodness it's only fluid. Keeping her in my prayers for a speedy full recovery. |
Thank you so much everyone! Its been quite a challenge keeping her from jumping and being so active :) Its such a good sign that she wants to play tho. My vet said that she is very healthy! |
