he dragged it! across the floor, his hinney (sp) that is! Does that mean he has worms?????? |
It could mean worms, it could mean his anal glands, it could mean he has poop on his fanny. If there is no poop then a trip to the vet is needed with a poop sample. |
there was no poopies... i'm hoping his bum just had an itch! he's got an appt the 24th. |

well i've checked his last 2 batches... last batch i saw stringy white things, not a lot... and they weren't moving.... so.... it's a big fat I don't know... i'll just take a sample to the vet on the 24th so they can check.... I know cats can pass ringworm to humans just by licking them.... any chance dogs pass any of their worms to humans... ? |

Stringy white things are good enough to take to the vet, they don't always move because as soon as they hit air they die. Do not wait until the 24! What if your baby as an accident on carpet. :p Sorry, good luck. |
he had accident on floor, is that a bad thing??? now i'm skerred... |
I dont think you have a choice it could be worms or glands time for a vet visit. Either way his bottom is sore! |

It is impacted anal glands, my daughter has learned the fine art of expressing them. It is not a pleasant task but somebody has to do it. Better her than me. :D S/W |
well he hasn't dragged his bum today at all... so guess that's a good sign and I haven't seen anything in his poo.... does it hurt the dogs when u help relieve the glands? i wouldn't know what to do, guess i'll ask the vet for a lesson.. yummmmmyyyyyyyyy! at least my husband checks the male chinchillas for hair rings  lol... i check the poo.... |

White stringy things sound like worms to me too. :( |
I really hope that it isn't worms, poor baby, our great dane had some that would not go away. My husband would see them in the poo, then he would stop by the vet on the way home from work and tell them that she had worms. They would give him something in a seringe to give oraly, after a few days it was back again. So he would go back to the vet(always without her, she is huge and so hard to load into the truck!) and they would give him the same thing, and he would give it to her AGAIN!! Then a few days later once again they were back!! I had enough of that, so I loaded her big butt into the truck and took her to the vet, they took a sample of the poop and said (Oh we were treating her for the wrong type of worm, and thats why they were not going away.) So PLEASE go get the sample taken, figure out if he really has them, if he does, what kind they are, so that he can be treated for the right kind. And so that you don't waist all that money on the wrong medicine!!! Good luck and keep us updated on him... |
