Purina Create Your Own Has or does anyone create your own dog food through Purina? What can you tell me about it. Thanks Stephanie |
From a marketing standpoint, I think it's genius, but from a pet lover standpoint, I think it's bull****. I think it's really cute that your dog's food will have its name and picture on every bag, but that's costly and it would be better to spend the money on what goes into the bag. What a cute idea. I might order some for Winston as his back up kibble. I like that Purina has veterinary nutritionists on staff. |
I just really straight out don't trust Purina. They were the makers of the chicken jerky that was linked to hundreds of dog deaths and it took them years to pull it from the market only to put it back on. They also are the makers of Beneful which is being linked to dog deaths as well. |
I would like to know what the formula is before I place an order, and also the nutritional and analysis info. It seems you fill out the form about your dog and its needs and then order? What if we don't like the ingredients and numbers? I agree it sounds a good idea but how it would really work I don't know? |

Good. In the FAQ I got the impression one had to order to get the info. You showed ingredients but you also had the analysis too? Do you get the above info before you have to complete the order? Thanks. PS. When do you get the price? |
I saw this before and think it's pretty cool. It's not really that pricey compared to a lot of the "grainfree" foods on the market these days. Jackson does well on Purina Beyond when we're in a pinch. |
After you create the blend you can see guaranteed analysis and ingredients and price. $24.99 for 6lb bag. I pay $18.99 for a 5.5lb bag of Acana. |
Thank you. The price seems very reasonable. :) |

Bella's blend 1 Attachment(s) Here is what they showed me when I created a food for Bella. I chose lamb, with no grains. If you choose grains, they put in corn gluten meal and soy instead of cassava and canola. It's pricey ($24.99 for a 6 lb bag), but if you buy in bulk, you can get four bags for $62. I'm still sticking to Wellness, but this is a nice option. |
