When to start feeding
 
all stages or adult kibble to my almost 8 mo girl??? I think I will get some RC all stages as she eats RC for yorkie puppies now.
When did you start feeding yours more adult food?

RC recommends 8-10 months old....depending on size of the puppy, and just because it is easier for me to remember, I leave mine on RC puppy kibble until they are 1 year old, then I go to Mini adult.

Is that the RC adult for yorkies??? It doesnt say if they are tiny kibbles or not , just says optimal. However there is a mini adult kibble. Would that be it?

Yes, the MINI adult kibble! Everything RC sells for small dogs is called "MINI".....and now they have added an "X-Tra Small" formula for the smaller toy dogs and puppies.....my 4 punders enthusiastically eat mini adult, and even the mini indoor adult.....if you have a very small pup that want the tiny kibble, that would be the formula to go for...the "X-Tra Small" formula is great! RC recommends changing to adult at 10 months, but I just round it up to a year old, especially if the dog is small....that extra two months will make no difference and do no harm to that growing pup.

yorkiemom1 what do your babies weigh? It says 9-22 lbs and Spice is under 5 lbs. Would this make a difference??

What bag/formula are you reading from? I have always fed the Mini Adult and mine are smaller than 9 lbs.....except 2 small "cows" I have here! It does not seem to have made any difference at all!

Can you get a hold of Royal Canin for Yorkshire Terrier Adult? It is recommended for Yorkies over 10 months of age:

This is what we used to feed Bella, and the kibble size was perfect for her.
