Low ALP in blood work. Pao just had his senior profile BW done and his ALP is at 16 (normal range is 24-141). I am still waiting to hear back from his vet but does anybody else have any experience with low ALP and what does it mean? Other than that his other reading that were a little bit elevated that the vet said is okay are:- RBC 9.5 (normal is 5.5-8.5), Hematocrit 0.57 (normal 0.37-0.55), Hemoglobin is 205 (normal 120-180) |
Here's an article on ALP (also known as ALKP, or alkaline phosphatase): Pet Portal : Natomas Animal Medical Center According to this article, "There are no significant medical conditions that cause the ALKP level to be too low." It's a greater concern if the ALP level is higher than normal. Hopefully your vet will give you good news on the blood test results. |
