safe baby wipes? again :P reading up on yorkies at 3am instead of sleeping :P ok so baby wipes are a cheaper alternative to pet wipes for quick cleaning after outside time between bathes, but looking at lists of things that are poisonous to dogs and yorkies and than looking at baby wipe labels only to find about half the list as the first 6 ingredients listed :/ - i find it hard to believe that people just pick them up and use them on their dogs without reading the label. just cuz they don't immediately get sick doesn't mean they aren't hurting them :/ anyway- i was wondering if anyone has a more 'dog friendly' list of baby wipe brands? i looked up lists of more 'natural' baby wipes but it was still a hard list to find dog safe wipes on as half the 'organic' materials are still poisonous to dogs even if they are biodegradable and good for baby butts. |
I just use baby wipes from the grocery store. |
I order puppy wipes from Amazon. |
I just wash my dog's legs with water in bathtub. Not exactly time saving but it's okay since I prefer not to use wipes. |
I use pamper sensative baby wipes and there is nothing toxic in them. |
I use Simple Cleansing wipes for sensitive skin, unscented. You can usually find then with the make up removal products or facial cleansers. |
I use earthbath, chester is a sensitive guy |
I use Huggies Wipes only for cleaning poop if a little gets stuck and for fly away hair while brushing. I don't use them on his face...warm wash cloth every morning for that. |
ZoE's vet recommended Huggies Natural Care wipes. He said they are free of alcohol and free of fragrance and cheaper than dog wipes. He said alcohol is what you need to be careful with, as repeated use can be very drying to the skin. He said he'd seen dogs with cracked paws because people used wipes with alcohol to clean dirty paws before letting dogs in the house. Probably any alcohol free wipes would be fine, he wasn't pushing a brand, just used those ones himself. He actually wrote about it in a spring newsletter, a couple of years ago. |
I don't like the chemicals either -- not even the "green" types. I just use washcloths and warm water to spot clean faces and paws in between baths. |
I use warm water with a tiny bit of their cream rinse in the water. I soak a cotton ball in the mixture. It's easier for me than a wash cloth, but either one works fine. |

Just an added note I do not use the sensitive pampers on her face or girlie part. I use a warm cloth on her face and girly part and the wipes on her paws and butt. I am about to just start using them on her butt only and do a paw soak on her paws at the end of every day. |
Regular face washing just small amount of shampoo ,water and washcloth. I only use unscented baby wipes n my carry when I travel for cleanups. |
I use Huggies natural wipes |
