Really small poops means absorbing more nutrients? Sorry if you're rereading this, I commented this on my other thread but nobody answered..... His poop is more than half of what it was! Not to be gross..... it was like 7-8 inches on the Orijen. Now it's like 3 inches. Does that mean he's just absorbing a lot more nutrients? It's a huge difference! I didn't change the amount- 1/3 cup twice a day with both foods. I'm just dumbfounded. |

I mean less than half of what it was! |

That's what my boss always said....the better the food the less they poop which means the more they r retaining. Poops are notmal? Firm normal color etc? |

But Orijen is high quality and his poops were long-like he didn't absorb anything! According to Dog Food Advisor it's 5 stars and the Fromm is only 4. But on the Fromm it just doesn't seem like enough is coming out. It's so weird! I'm not complaining, it's better for me. It's just such a drastic change. |

7-8" is a LOT of poop! 3" seems more normal to me. But I read on a bag of dog food, can't remember the brand, that it said smaller poops from that brand bc they absorb more of the nutrients and there is less waste. Maybe the new brand just suits your dog better than the old brand. |

Maybe there's something in the orijen that is not in the fromm that just didn't agree with him? |

We thought Winnie had a problem with chicken....but the food we finally found that suits her has chicken. Dogs are wierd lol |

On the Orijen I thought they were perfect poops. Firm but not hard. Just pick it up in one piece. I'm really happy with the Fromm grain free. And he loves it. It use to be a fight to get him to eat, he'd just let it sit there all day. Now he eats it really quick and wants more. And the kibble is super small which is awesome! |

How big is your dog? Bc I'm thinking 7-8" is like a human sized poop! |
|
um he's 10 pounds. Yeah the length looked like human, but it was much skinnier compared to a person. Now I guess he just has normal dog poops? lol |
|
Hahaha. Yeah I think 7-8" is def too much for only a 10 lb dog. |

I'm glad I tried Fromm. So happy with it so far! |

My boys eat Fromm Chicken a la veg. If they were to eat Orijen, they would require a lot less of the kibble per day. (compare calories per cup and fat grams per cup). In other words, it would be like a human going from eating a cup of steak every day to eating a cup of lettuce, which would produce less output. :D I hope that makes sense. |
