Winnie did science diet ideal balance. She seems to like it fine just didn't agree with her tummy. |
Seems like most Vets suggest Science Diet but if you puppy / dog is healthy i would go with something better. My puppy was on pedigree from the breeder and now his eating Fromm Puppy Gold and seems to really like it. |
Fromm is one of the few company's that uses USA ingredients only and their dog food is made at their own facility, no outsourcing. To me that means a lot because these other popular brands outsource and often switch manufacturing facilities and / or companies. |

There are many, many doggies here who do wonderfully on SD!!! LadyJane can certainly attest to this as she is in rescue and has fed wayyyy more dogs than most of us ever will feed in our entire lives :). |

Fromm looks like good food to me! Nice choice!:D |
And he eats really good. I do have to give him a few from my hand and then he finishes the rest in the bowl. The only i don't like about Fromm Puppy Gold is its little high on carbohydrates of am I wrong? What is a good protein and carbohydrate percentage for our puppies? |

Your percentages, it's really subjective in that different people have different opinions. I think, all agree it's the quality or absorbability of the nutrients that matters just as much or greater than the percentages. Look for that AAFCO approval somewhere in small print on the bag. I just looked for and found it on my Wellness bags, it was really small print on the back of the bag though. LOL You could compare those percentages with other high quality brands of puppy food....... I currently don't use Fromm but I enjoyed calling them, their nutritionist, and asking them questions. I highly encourage you to give them a call. I only recall positive things about Fromm except for some dogs didn't care for it or some of their formulas may be too "rich"(for lack of a better term) for some special needs dogs such as our old guy. With all the dog foods on the market, and trying to make the best possible decision one can, curious if anyone has tried Wendy Volhard Natural Diet, dehydrated food. The recipe was developed in 1972 and clinically tested for over 30 years. About Us |

My dogs eat rx food (SD and Purina) and do very well. For healthy pups my advice is to choose the company before the ingredients. Ask questions (quality control procedures, trials done, who formulated their foods, where foods are made, research the company has done, etc.). |

New pup in the house, Lola (cockapoo) was 9 weeks when we brought her home. She ate a 3lb bag of Royal Canin Puppy (what breeder had her on) and then I switched her over to Acana. We didn't do the whole 80/20 thing, more like 50/50 for a bit. She's now... 14 weeks, I believe, and doing great. I know puppies poop a lot in general, but she was pooping a TON. It was just getting crazy... also her eyes were always extremely wet and goopy. Not just normal crust, but goop. Since she's been on 90% Acana for two weeks now, she's pooping a lot less and eyes have stopped running. |
dog food My boys eat wellness. I use he dry in the purple bag-it is a chicken base food with oatmeal called complete balance. I mix in some Chicken stew wellness canned food with it. I am very happy with this food.. My one older dog can only eat tilapia and quinoa lately because of a severe bout with pancreatitis. Be very careful and do not feed any fat food off the table. Some Yorkies have sensitive stomachs. I hope you try the wellness line. This was recommended to me by my former poodle breeder who has top show dogs and this is what she feeds them. |

I currently use Fromm and Armani loves eating it, pretty much stopped itching but seems to poop about 4 times a day, is that normal for a 10 week old puppy? |
I feed the pups Nutro Ultra small breed puppy. The adults I feed Victor dry dog. Many flavors to choice from. |

I'm on Natures Variety Instinct puppy for the baby and pick out the raw bits for now. Zoey likes the plain kibble ... turkey and also duck.... I've had her on so much stuff , she just stops eating it.....including homemade ! I've always heard once they get homemade they never go back to dogfood but not her. Baby Izzy eats kibble so she wants it too....bout like a kid. So far so good.. |

We've kept him on what the breeder had him on...Stella and Chewy's...mixed with Eukanuba Excel Puppy kibble...at the Vet's advice, we cut him down from 2 patties a day to 1 1/2 and raised the amount of dry...we cover it with Organic low sodium chicken stock... at 5 months old, he's doing great- 4.2 pounds, extremely active and energetic...in week 3 of obedience training! |
My pups eat Hills Prescription Diet z/d because of my girl's gastrointestinal issues and allergies. |
