Allergies is so frustrating Allergies in dogs is so frustrating. Even if you pin point the problem if it is environmental how do you stop the itching. You can't take them away from the environment. You can give predisone shots but they are not good for them. Sammie is so bad right now. That he keeps shaking his head biting his legs and his eyes are swollen and real runny. Been to the vet and not an ear infection or eye infection she said allergies. I just wish someone out there could find a miracle for these poor dogs that are so itchy!! |
They can do allergy testing to tell you what environmental allergy it is and you can get special shots made up for your dog for those issues. There is also allergy medicine. If you do is misrable you really need to look into and get him some relief. |

What meds have you tried so far? There are OTCs to try, Atopica, Apoquel, Temaril-P, allergy testing and shots/drops. To me, it sounds like your kiddo's allergies are truly affecting his quality of life, so he really does need to either be on medication and/or do the allergy testing. I feel for you bc treating allergies is just miserable! Read this thread for more info: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html |
You know I can not find the trigger. Today his eyes look good and he is not shaking his head as much. He has been getting at the cat food so I put it high up yesterday so I don't know maybe the cat food was making him itch. |

this is what I have done for my allergic chester, I use all free and clear laundry soap since he sleeps with me, no dryer sheets, extra rinse on stuff, clean often, salmon oil is good and look into apple cider vinegar, and sometimes just rinse them off if its damp outside . I don't use any plug in freshners or anything in carpet and use a air cleaner |
Wylies mom thats what the new food she is putting him on does. It has a lot of stuff in there to support the immune system. |
