Fromm... Anyone feeding this? The store near me started carrying Fromm. What is your experience with Fromm dry food? I am feeding RC currently but it really is time for a switch. They thought Mickey had some crystals when he got his blood work for his upcoming dental. Second test they were gone. :( We have been feeding RC for about a year. He has never tested with crystals before so I am worried about the food he is eating. He also got a little pimple looking white bump on his head which I saw holestic articles saying it coulf be a food issue. |

Fromm's is a suppose to be a very good food. The breeder I got Sophie from was feeding her Fromm's but a week or so after I got Sophie she started not wanting to eat it any more. I could not get her to eat it at all so I changed to RC. So far she has not had any issues. |
Teddy's been eating the grain-free formulas for the past few bags (lamb & lentils and salmon tunalini). He does really well on this food and we have always come back to it throughout the past couple of years. I fed Toki a few of the inclusive formulas when she was eating kibble and she also did well on it. Also, the pieces are pretty small if that's an important factor for you....you might try getting some sample bags at your independent stores that carry it. We are big fans here! |
Mine have been eating Fromm Chicken a la veg. Mia (not a yorkie but a pom) is a really picky eater and she eats it just fine. The kibble is small. |
It is our food of choice for now but we may change back to Acana. Fromm kibble size is great and very good ingredients. Ali does well on it, and I love the fact that you can get sample bags to try before you buy. My only problem is the smallest bag for purchase is 4lbs. It's hard to keep Ali interested in anything long enough to use 4lbs. Acana sells small bags (less than a pound) so I can switch her around and keep her interested. The kibble size is too large on Acana so I have to break it up. |
I have been thinking about switching my Yorkie boys to Fromm. Currently they are eating Organix Grain Free kibble by Castor and Pollux. My 16 week old is on the Grain Free puppy and my 8 year old has been eating some of the puppy's food and gained 3 oz in a week. I can't have him gaining weight, he's been 7 lbs for years. I try to keep him at this weight because he has LP's and three Vets have said they don't recommend surgery for him but all three also said that if I keep him at a healthy weight and don't encourage jumping (I have stairs for the beds) he shouldn't have any problems with the LP's. He's almost 9 and hasn't had any problems with his LP's and was diagnosed as a puppy. I really want to find a good kibble for all life stages so I won't have to worry about them eating each other's food. I am waiting to get a call back from the nutritionist at Fromm, I don't want to feed my babies any foods with GMO's and I called the company today to ask about this. I don't eat GMO foods and I won't feed them to my furry babies either. I'm impressed with Fromm as a company and never having any recalls and their use of meats that are free of hormones and antibiotics but if they are fed GMO feed that all goes out the window for me. |
We feed Fromm. Shelby is on blue basics at the time. She has been very sensitive and we decided to try it for her for sensitive stomach/ food allergies. |
Max and Teddy have been eating Fromm Chicken a la Veg for a few years (most of their lives). They love it. |
Cali eats Fromm and loves it! |
Fromm is a great brand, IMO. I am not sure the issues you're having would be due to food though? But maybe I'm wrong. |

The pimple like thing, I would not blame the food. Max has had a couple in his six years. Sebaceous cysts are fairly common and have many causes. |
Remy has been on Fromm gold puppy since I got him from the breeder. He is such a picky eater but had no issues eating Fromm when I switched him to it. I just went yesterday to buy him some more food and decided to pick up a different kind since he will be one in a couple of weeks and I can start switching him now. He loves the new Fromm I picked up (Grain free pork and peas). I love that they have soooo many different favors you can pick. I hope this help! |
I was watching one of the videos on the Fromm site and it said it is formulated so you can feed one flavor for one meal and another flavor for the second meal. Any one do this? Good to hear the crystals and cyst thing might not be food related. I don't like feeding my boys the new RC Yorkie formula that has by product in it. It is too much money to have by product in my opinion. It is worrisome to me that they did this. |
The limited research that I did showed Fromm to be a very good food. I really wanted Gucci to enjoy it, alas, he didn't take to it. I would however recommend the food. Get some samples! Calling Fromm directly is a great option as well. I enjoyed their very honest responses to my specific questions. |
I have heard nothing but really great things about Fromm. |
