What is a good dry dog food for Yorkies? I have a fussy eater and a good eater! I will try royal canin yorkshire terrier adult dry dog food as suggested. Any other I could try |
Fromm is a great family owned business that has never had a recall in over100 years in business. I think Nature's Logic, Orijen, and Acana are also worth looking at. |
My Yorkie only eats Royal Canin for Yorkshire Terrier Chewy is a picky dog food eater. I cant tell you how many brands we tried before I discovered Royal Canin for Yorkshire Terrier. He eats the adult version now but started on the puppy version. It is specially formulated for the picky breed. Of course Chewy loves human food. He eats my salad fixings in the morning when I make my lunch - lettuce, arrgula, carrots, tomatoes, berries, etc. :aimeeyork |
I used RC for years and was very happy with it, but due to a recent ingredient change, I decided to switch. They are no longer using chicken meal, they are using chicken by product meal and it doesn't contain as much quality protein as chicken meal. Price is still the same though. I like this site as far as educating consumers on what to look for in a dog food. The Dog Food Project - Identifying better products. I was deciding between Wellness small or toy breed and Nature's Logic. The Wellness is very much like the old formula of RC and it's available at stores like Petsmart. Nature's Logic isn't sold in the bigger pet stores, but you can buy it online and in smaller types of pet stores. The ingredients are really great, and although, I don't know much about the company, but they have done animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures. This is an All Life Stage, which means, you can feed it to puppies, adults senior and even pregnant pups. The main reason I choose it over Wellness, is that it doesn't use any grains/starches, and while my two aren't allergic, they do have a problem keeping trim. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that starches can make it difficult to lose weight. In the past, Joey hated all the 5 star foods we tried, and I'm happy to say, Joey loves this and so does Ralphie. They transitioned to it really easily too, no side effects at all. Here's a link to Natures Logic and it tells the ingredients. CANINE DRY KIBBLE - CHICKEN - Nature's LogicNature's Logic |
I need to correct my post, millet is a type of grain. "It a gluten-free grain harvested from certain seed grasses. Millet is hypoallergenic and naturally rich in B-vitamins and fiber as well as other essential minerals." Nature's Logic Dog Food | Review and Rating |
