chew toys and treats Does anyone have thoughts on a good chew to keep teeth clean? A friend recommended Greenies. My Jaz loved these, but I read that they cause blockage. Then I read about these chew toys from China that are toxic! Does anyone have something to keep teeth clean that is safe? |
I've been familiar with Greenies since they came out. My mother bought them all the time, I now buy them for the little guys and they love them. So far I haven't dealt with blockage. They're also a fan of bully sticks too. Have you tried brushing their teeth? |
Greenies were expanding when they reached the stomach and that's what was causing the problems, they say they have changed the formula but I'm not comfortable or trusting of them. Bully sticks, antlers and himalayan chews can all break teeth. Having had a dog who broke a tooth on a bully stick I do not recommend them it cost close to $600 for surgery and Callie had to lose her big cruncher tooth. Brushing really is the best thing to do to keep teeth clean. Callie gets the naked chews and occasionally a milkbone dental chew. |
Thank you Thank you! |

Jaz tried this and just kept wiggling. My vet offered to do this, but wanted to give her medication to do this. |
