Potatoe hard to digest? Upon looking for a limited ingredient treat for now also dog food while I'm looking, I notice potato in a lot of ingredient lists . Isn't potato something you do not want for a dog with sensitive tummy? Zoey has been on hills rx I D ever since her ER episode. Not knowing what made her sick. She is getting bored with it so I thought I would look around, but I am afraid! I am now grinding same rx kibble into smaller chunks and adding it to her moist to give her variety. A treat in the afternoon or evening when I start rattling the popcorn bag is when she wants a snack.doesnt want her old standbys anymore...watermelon, muskmelon, green beans, apples, bananas....will eat cooked carrots but it's not a go to treat if ya know what I mean....I have just tried the zukes super berry back in and it seems to agree....but is potato hard to digest? |
My dog Barney who has a two time history of pancreatitis and is 14 eats white potatoes every day. Seems to agree with him. |

That's what is so crazy about her falling ill, she does not have pancreatitis. What do you give him for treats? |
White potato is a simple carb/sugar - therefore, for *some* dogs, it may lend itself to increased inflammation...but I feel that's more common w/ allergy dogs, not really tummy issue dogs. It's more difficult for dogs to digest more complex carbs, as compared to a simpler carb. |

I won't be quite so worried going into something that has potato in it then. Just staying away from grains . |
