Dry poop Don't mean to gross anyone out but, Pita's poop has been real skinny and dry today and yesterday, do you think she could be blocked up or something? Is there some sort of oil or something I could give her to loosen things up? |
Wow!!!! A week ago I would have paid CASH to find some 'dry poop' from Lil Bit.....she just kept this 'runny stuff' for weeks and weeks. Finally, yesterday, when I came home she had left a nice 'formed' poop (on the pee-pee pad, thank-you).... and I just picked it up with a tissue and flushed it!!!!! Amazing how something so weird can make my day! If the poop is just 'formed' enough to pick up and not leave a "skid mark" I think that would be nice and normal.....She should poop easily and not seem to be straining....also, if a formed poop has sat out on the paper all day it may seem alot drier than it was originally. If you really think she needs something you can give some sugar water or something sweet..(NOT CHOCOLATE!!!)..anything sweet will usually cause poop to soften up some. I have no idea if she should have any oil or stuff like that. Also, depending on her age..you can give a bite or two of apple or some type of fruit with skin on.....extra fiber is a good thing. Hope this helps a bit. |
That was so funny Debi_s...it still amazes me that after 1 year that i have Mojo, i still get so happy for little things he does (like peeing on the pee pad...hehehehe) I would offer a bit of apple...maybe even give a little bit of canned food (with mojo it makes his poop softer) and also masage her belly:) |
Thanx for the response! I will try the fruit, she's not straining or anything and they are a little less hard today. I have all different animals, 2 goats, 2 pigs, 2 lambs, a cow , 2 llamas, 3 horses, 2 mini donkeys a ton of cats, 2 ferrets, a bunny and 6 turtles. When i feed everybody in the morning Pita sometimes picks up poop or hairballs or god knows what, so i was worried she might be blocked but I think since she's still going, she's ok. Out of all of these animals Pita is the only house pet, and she's the one I worry about the most! |
Try a teaspoon of pumkin. Pumkin always works for chester and he love it too. And have lots of water availible. |
A little fish or flaxseed oil helps and is a great source for Omega 3 and 6 for shiny coats and healthy skin. |
