Can I spay my smaller yorkie? Hello, I am new to the yorkie parent world. I have a small (2 lb, 4month old) yorkie pup. When I got her I was told she was too small to have spayed. Is that true? I haven't had her very long and I done research and have gotten mix reviews. I wanted to know if someone here has had their small yorkie spayed and what was their experience. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if something happen to her but I would rather have her spayed if possible. Please let me know what you all suggest. thanks |
It would be best to wait until she is 6-8 months old to have her spayed (in my opinion). She will be a bit bigger then, and also her permanent teeth will be in, and while she is under anesthesia, they can remove any baby teeth that may have been retained. You can also get her microchipped at that time too. |
I would wait until she is 6-8 months. . . I have a little guy. It is fine to spay and neuter the little ones. . . |
