Incurin Tablets My dog started Incurin Tablets, one a day to help stop leaking. Here is the description: Incurin Tablets are indicated for the control of estrogen-responsive urinary incontinence in spayed female dogs. Each Incurin Tablet contains 1 mg of estriol. The dosage of Incurin is not dependent upon body weight. All dogs should receive an initial dose of 2 mg (2 tablets) orally once per day for a minimum of 14 days. After urinary incontinence is controlled, the lowest effective daily dose should be determined, depending upon the response of the individual dog. I notice now that my dog's nipples are getting bigger. They were really tiny and couldn't feel them but now they are getting darker at the tip and bigger. This is part of the pill show I be worried? |
Hi I have no advice but I have asked for help from more knowledgeable members. Best wishes. |
You should speak with the vet who prescribed it. From this link: Incurin - Product Data Sheet Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness) Oestrogenic effects such as swollen vulva, swollen mammary glands and/or attractiveness to males and vomiting have been observed at the highest recommended dose of 2 mg per dog. The incidence is about 5-9 %. These effects are reversible after lowering the dose. |
It sounds like it could be a dose-related normal side effect. Nonetheless, you may feel better if you call your vet and inquire about it, just in case they want to adjust. I hope this med works for this kiddo. :) |
