Toothpaste - VOHC Approved, Petsmile? Hello everyone! From time to time I've found myself being a "lurker" on here, so I thought it was time I join the community. I'm having a hard time keeping my babies teeth clean. I noticed on the VOHC's website that they approved a toothpaste this year, Petsmile. Does anyone know anything about this product or maybe tried it? I haven't been able to find much on the web it other than the limited information on their website. Obviously it has been deemed "safe", but just how safe? Will it actually make an improvement? I just want to be super cautious when I'm giving my little one anything. I've read reviews on here about the healthymouth product, so I know in general this goes back to the age old question of what product should I use. I've been using the Nylabone toothpaste for years and my vet recommended a water additive (Oxyfresh) but this just isn't doing the trick. I need a better solution for her. Any input or guidance would be much appreciated. |
I've tried to order it, I'm not sure it ever made it to production. I use vanilla mint CET by virbac. |
Hi - welcome and glad you came out of lurking to post :)! I haven't heard of this paste. I use Healthy Mouth (also VOHC approved) and Wysong's dental sprinkle (got it on Amazon). In the past I've also used ProDen's Plaque Off. |
Thank you for both of your insights! I think I may go with the health mouth gel, since I think I need a "hard hitter" first to try to get rid of the build up. From anyone's experience on average how long would it take to see results? |
