Ground beef or chicken? I was just wondering if anyone feeds ground beef? (or lamb) My girl has been eating chicken since the day I brought her home and has never tried beef. (Just as snack/treat) I haven't tried to give her beef because it's more of a fatty meat but do they tend to like beef more than chicken? I was eating a steak the other day and she was sniffing around the table like crazy, lol. |

my choice I wean my pups on lamb and rice cereal and the parents now consider lamb a real treat. I use beef chicken or lamb mixed with green beans and carrots. They love it and their coats reflect a sheen without having to use additional products. ( other than shampoo and conditioner) |
Sure, dogs can have beef. Mine like all kinds of meat - bison, duck, chicken, beef, lamb. |
you can buy chop meat, the lowest fat you can find, at times my super market will carry 90% fat free, 85% is ok too. Boil it in a frying pan with enough water to cover the meat about an inch or so and keep mashing the chop meat, drain off the water, put the meat in a paper towel to absorb any extra fat and water. This was advised to me by my vet. You can also boil some rice and mixed the beef with rice just as you would boneless chicken breast. |
Yes, they can eat beef. After speaking recently with my vet nutritionist about beef and diets and amino acid profiles and biochemistry and nitrogen and realizing how much more she knows than I can ever know, I put everyone back on chicken. Also, she's not a garbage disposal so there is no need for her to eat your table scraps. There is nothing more annoying that dogs under food begging either. |

This is interesting. All of my dogs love their snacks and everyone knows how expensive and dangerous some of them can be. I think it's time to throwout the snackbox and start cookin. |

1 Attachment(s) I feed my boys a variety of raw ground, they get bone in turkey, duck, rabbit with green tripe and organ meat. As for the whole meats, pork and beef brisket, lamb flank and chops, whole rabbit sliced, and they just love themselves a lovely meaty pork rib. The good thing about the beef brisket and lamb flank is the bone is soft cartlidge and easy for them to knaw and crunch. The lamb chop and pork rib bones, take a bit longer and they can sit for an hour knawing away on those. I make sure their is a proper balance in their daily meals and a constant variety in the proteins as this is very important in raw feeding. Take your time transitioning in new proteins, as well as try to get grass fed or free range if possible. You want to ensure your dog doesn't have any food sensitivities, so feed only the new protein for a few weeks to ensure there is reaction to it. |
