which Royal Canin??? I have a yorkie/maltese mix 5 month old pup who I recently started feeding Royal Canin which she is doing well on. I bought the x-small puppy formula, but was wondering if she would benefit from the yorkie puppy formula instead although she is not full yorkie. Does that really matter? The ingredients seem similar, but amounts many be different. Any and all opinions would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Is there a Yorkie Puppy formula? I know there is a Yorkie formula. Hmmm now I'm going to ned to take a look at the RC site. RC is a very good food and I feed it to all 3 of mine. |

Royal Canin MINI Canine Health Nutrition Yorkshire 28 - Adult Dry Dog Food from petco.com They don't have a Maltese one though, that's why I was looking at the Yorkie formula. |
Ha....I learned something new today! There is a Yorkshire Terrier Puppy and Adult food! According to the chart you should feed the puppy variety for a few more months until the age of 9 months old. Yorkshire Terrier Puppy / BREED HEALTH NUTRITION? / Dog Products / Products / Products / Home Royal Canin USA - Royal Canin I do not see a Maltese food and really I don't see why you couldn't feed the Yorkie food. They also have XS and small kibble. I did notice their coats looked very shiny when feeding the Yorkie formula. So to answer your question I think you should stick with the Yorkie puppy and then switch over to the adult formula. |
The link says adult, but when you click on it the bag says puppy. Weird. I think I will try the Yorkie puppy and mix it with the x-small puppy. See if she notices a difference or prefers one to the other. Thanks |
I hadn't even noticed. IMO you have made a great choice in kibble :) |
