Suggestions please Hi everyone, I have a question ,Chip is a yr and eight myths,he throws up a lot about 8 or 9 times a month I've carried him to vet she did blood work and everything is good. She put him on science diet id and suralfate, still thowing up. She has suggested a upper GI. He eats and drinks great, he seems to be happy and healthy, hasn't loss any weight, and yes he does graze on grass and is like a vacuum ,and I try to make sure he doesn't eat anything but HIS food.:) I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks for your help. |
With that much vomiting, I too would be looking at an upper GI bc you really do need the reason this is happening so you can treat it properly. Please keep us posted on how the little guy does! |
get him some slippery elm bark and look into home cooking, it might be the foods are too harsh on his little system. The food could be causing him heartburn http://www.holvet.net/slippery_soup.html |
Hey , Chip has a appointment for a upper GI Monday , and thanks for the link for slippery elm, I will try that. Thank you for your suggestions. |
Glad you got an appt. Let us know what you find out. |
Hi, Chip had his upper GI today and everything went well, vet said he has a lot of acid and put him on meds for that, if that doesn't work then he is allergic to his food and will go on hypoallergenic food. I glad it wasn't serious, O she did a blood panel on him and it was great also,I have him on slippery elm bark also:), thanks for the tip. |
