Customizable Parasite Prevention My vet is offering something called a Customizable Parasite Prevention Program. The meds are compounded through and FDA approved pharmacy and you choose the level of protection (flea/tick/mosquitos/heartworm/whip worms etc) that you desire. The dosages are based on weight. For Cali, a year's worth of preventatives would cost about $150 vs $240 for the name brand prescriptions. Has anyone ever used something like this? Thoughts? Opinions? |
I have not. There are some issues with compounded meds, so I would want to know more about the pharmacy etc. |
That sounds pretty amazing, if all is copacetic in terms of ingredients and the pharmacy and everything. It's cool that while it's custom, it's actually less $$$. Do you know which pharm they're using? |
