Does my yorkie need calcium supplement? My 5 months old yorkie, Emma, has 2 layer of tooth now. When I took her to vet for vaccine shot (when Emma reaches 4 month), vet said her tooth is developing slowly and we dont need to worry about the tooth. Now, she's 5 month old. The baby tooth is not fully grown and now the adult tooth is growing.... In this type of situation, I have no clue if I need to give her some calcium supplement. Anyone knows? Note: Emma's eating kibble and taking omega 3 supplement occasionally. Thanks!! |
Have her calcium level checked by the vet. If she needs calcium, her blood level will indicate this. You have to be careful just giving calcium....too much calcium in the system can cause many problems.....it does not only just settle out in the teeth. |
