Hey I just bought the purple bag for my 2 yorkies- one is a little chubby and the other one has to watch what she eats- she has pancreatitis. They love it too. I was impressed with the ingredients and would highly recommend it! :aimeeyork |
Both Simon and Hallie are on it! Simon eats that as well as a prescription food and Hallie is eating the lite! They love it and it works with Simon's sensitive belly. |
Well good I am glad there are good things about this food! I was debating on this and Canidae or even Solid Gold but I think I will try this for awhile & we will see.... hey does anybody know if the puppy dry food bits are smaller than the Super 5 Mix/Chicken? |
Hi Cindy! I used Wellness for about a year. I was feeding the Fish and Sweetpotato because it was recommended to me to help improve coat quality. I think Wellness is one of the best foods on the market, and I loved the shape and texture of the food. My furkids devoured it like it was candy and the candy store was closing!!!! However, it did not help with Chattie's dry coat. I have been feding Innova EVO for a little over a year now and gradually Chattie's coat has gone from dry brittle break every time you touch it to "almost" normal and it is still improving and growing long. Sounds like you are a label reader and did your homework!!! Way to go!! |
Thanks Chatties Mom! I am very over protective that way...... well I wasn't looking into a food specifically for their coat, although it would be nice, but I just wanted to find a good quality food that would be good on their digestive systems and overall organs! I feel a bit better knowing that there are good reviews for this food.... I was tempted with Innova but I can't seem to find it anywhere here.. well thanks! :) |
Cindy, I drive 65 miles each way to buy dog food. The same pet store carries both. I did a lot of research as I know you did and I don't think you can do much better than Wellness. I'm not sure that the Innova Evo is a better quality food, it is equal in quality but more expensive, and I would still be feeding the Wellness if it had helped Chattie's coat. |
thanks, well you will never guess i looked up a new search & found it near me , but I am tempted to just stay with Wellness, it says Innova Pup has chicken fat, & I have heard it is bad for them, maybe I am wrong.. thanks you are very dedicated, I would probably drive too but I am sOOOOOOOOO bad with directions I will get lost with 2 yorkies!! HAA HAA :D |
I feed Wellness Puppy & I am very happy w/ it! I am going to mix it w/ the Innova EVO though (so Lucky can have a variety!) :) |
Nutro? I have tried a few different foods for Baxter and then realized they had corn as first or second ingrediant,. So I went to a reputable pet supplie/feed store that also has a vet clinic. They have many kinds but since Baxter is so finicky they had me try Nutro Natural Choice Ultra for Puppys. I mix a 1/2 t of ceasers in it so he will eat and every other day 1 t of cottage cheese. Is this a good approach? |
These are the ingredients: Ingredients Lamb Meal, Rice Flour, Rice Bran, Rice Gluten, Ground Rice, Dried Beet Pulp, Sunflower Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of natural Vitamin E), Poultry Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of natural Vitamin E), Natural Flavor, Potassium Chloride, Dried Kelp (source of Iodine), Dried Egg Product, Zinc Sulfate, Vitamin E Supplement, Ferrous Sulfate, Taurine, Choline Chloride, Biotin, Ascorbic Acid (source of Vitamin C), Manganous Oxide, Garlic Flavor, Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of Vitamin B2), Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of Vitamin B6), Thiamine Mononitrate (source of Vitamin B1), Calcium Iodate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (source of Vitamin K activity), Sodium Selenite, Folic Acid. I believe Fat is not good for them, others say otherwise. I think my MHO that it is not a bad food but they are better quality out there. |
What is MHO, and what is the list of ingrediants you gave for? Guess I am a little dense this morning |
My Humble Opinion....... and the ingredients are for Nutro..... |
Thanks, maybe I need some more caffiene this morning. I am so confused to what to feed my Baxter. So I asked the my vet and he said science diet. Well, we know about the corn issue. So I didnt go that way. He was on Eukanuba from the breeder, but didnt seem to eat very good. So that is when I drove 45 miles to this extensive pet supplie/feed store. I asked the vet there and that is what he recommended. So that is why I went that way. We do not have a real good pet store or such until I drive 90 miles. So I wanted to get something that would be available. I am soooo confused by everyones opinion, I don't know which one to use. I read so many different views,.I guess I just want to do the best for my little guy. :animal36 |
Jolene as well did not do very good on Wellness. Gave her bad diarrhea even when introducing it VERRYYY slow. Changed her to Innova EVO and no problems since. Her dry skin and coat is responding very well. Jen and Jolene |
