Interceptor-Back on market??? I was told by the receptionist at my vet's office today that Interceptor is coming back on the market, BUT something has been added to it and they will not be carrying it because of this. I haven't read about this anywhere. Does anyone know anything?? |
I just did a quick google search and I can't find anything about Interceptor coming back on the market. I would think if that were true, there would be announcements. Maybe the receptionist confused it with some other med? |
I think the receptionist is confusing it with Sentinel. Sentinel is Interceptor plus a chitin inhibitor to stop flea reproduction. Both Sentinel and Interceptor were pulled by Novartis and Sentinel was the only one to return. It is a very good drug. |

I came across a website that said Novartis is beginning the shutdown of their NY plant beginning 2014 and ending 2017. I'm wondering if this will create a shortage of Sentinel. |
There's regular sentinel, and now sentinel spectrum, which also protects against tapeworms. ZoE was on interceptor, then sentinel after interceptor was discontinued. I'd have to research the additional drug added to kill tapeworms in the spectrum version before deciding if I'd use it. |

I work in a vet clinic and I haven't heard anything about Interceptor coming back. |
No worries, Sentinel is made in their Nebraska plant. |
Just ordered Lexi Sentinel sure hope there is no problems! |

I have a friend who was using Interceptor. She has been using Sentinel for almost a year without any problems. |
Mine have always done great on Sentinel. |
