Frontline Plus Question? I picked up some Frontline Plus 0-22lb flea and tick, my question is: since Oscar is only 7.4lb, can I use half a dose or the whole dose? Just Curious.. any advice is apprecaited |
Bumping. |
I split the dose between my two big boys. Many people use a partial dose according to weight. Once the plastic "vial" container is open, I don't know if you can save the remainder for the next month. It would be nice if you could since Frontline is pricey. This would be a good question for your vet. |
Thanks for the responses, I decided to use the full vial since I didn't hear back from anyone, poor guy, right after I put it on, he knew something's amiss... |
I use half doses but have used full doses as well. |
I use full dose |
dog I hate using anything! I know I will have to because this summer we go camping and so do the fleas. I used Revolution last year with no problems. Probably do the same this year unless something better is out there. Please be careful what you put on your dog. All these poisons make them sick. No on Triflexis, they vomit, that stuff is so strong. |

I used Frontline and Advantix for years but Seresto Collar is superior to both, safer, cheaper, less messy and more effective. |
Since shampooing washes off the topical I have gone to Trifexis on 2 of my dogs. Getting ready to change another who is on Iverhart Max over to a pill. Advantix + pill is expensive. My Yorkie is on Heartguard. So far she has not had a reaction. I use 3 different vets and they all offer something different. Frustrating!! |
If you area has a lot of deer then the advantix does not kill deer ticks. |
Just an update, gave up on Frontline, Oscar still had fleas (at least three I can see), wife is getting eaten up... I switched over to Comfortis and the fleas dropped like flies... amazing product!!! Now Oscar is a flea killing machine.. |
