Best canned food? I want to start topping franklins food dog can food instead of people food like chicken, Parmesan, sweet potato because I feel he'll eat more. he's not eating still as much as I would want him to. any brands recommendations? I feed him origin dry puppy food and I want really good quality canned food as well. Thanks! |
We've tried Weruva & Party Animal. Both are human grade, they LOVED it (did well on it too) & I like the companies. If you have a Whole Foods near you, they carry Party Animal, sometimes it goes on sale. |
Oops, Party Animal is not human grade, but they do use a lot of organic foods. We also tried the Cocolicious line, all grain free. You can also order directly from their website: Party Animal Gourmet Organic Pet Food Save On Free Shipping Now |
Mine loved the Weruva. But it was messy for them to eat and was too costly to feed 3 of them. I think to top of the kibble it would be great. |
My cousin tops her kibble with Rachel Ray's Nutrish Delish or something like that....she says the chicken pot pie and the beef stew looks good enough for humans to eat!! I have NO idea about how good this food is....I use only RC so I have no first hand suggestions about a wet food topper, but my cousin swears by this stuff and her dogs LOVE it! |
Another vote for Weruva and Party Animal! I also have fed a lot of Earthborn, TikiDog, Natural Balance Stews, and Hill's Ideal Balance. I just recently got a few cases of Whole Earth Farms which the pups have been enjoying the past few days as well...this brand is more affordable than the other options (an important factor for me since I feed a lot of canned food) but still good quality in my opinion. |
Our favorite is Weruva and Tiki Dog is a close second :) |
chester gets weruva, there cans are also bpa free not all of them are |
My silly girl thinks Party Animal is too mushy, she likes chunks and Merrick is what she likes mixed in. Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Grandmas Pot Pie. Sometimes I have to lure her in with a baby cheddar fish or sugar pop ( cereal), but once she starts eating she will eat. Try and get to know what TIME they like to eat so food ain't laying around for hours:) Zoey is terrible! Eats at 2 o clock than bedtime! Like 11. ! |

I'm currently using earthborn, weruva, verus (mushy), and simply nourish. |

Any issues when's mixing it in or feeding it with loose stools or diarrhea? :( They didn't have a party animal at whole foods so I opted for a different organic brand until I can get a hold of this stuff and I topped it on the food and he's been having loose stools since then. did I just not mix it in slowly enough?? Or should i switch |
