Am I feeding my fur baby properly? And is yogurt ok for them? I have been feeding Chloe 1/4 of a cup Blue Buffalo small breed puppy food daily along with a little bit of fruit (either mango, apple, banana or strawberries). Some days I give her a little bit of boiled chicken with carrots mixed into her dry food, she loooooovesssss it! I just wanted to know if this is a good diet for her? The chicken I don't really give more than once or twice a week, she mainly eats her dry food. Is it healthier for her to get a little bit of protein daily along with the dry food? Sometimes I feel that she waits for me to put something into her dry food so she can eat it, which I'm afraid I might "spoil" her not to eat her dry food by itself. When you give your fur babies people food do you give it in a separate bowl? Also, I have been having a problem with her poop eating. Is it ok if I give her probiotic yogurt to help her digest her food? If it is, what brands and flavors are ok? Thank you! Edit: And oops! I thought this was the yorkie health and diet section. lol |
Yogurt is fine, as long as it's fat free. I feed vanilla. I have one male who loves veggies-spinach, zucchini, sweet potato, carrot, broccoli. He constantly sits under me if I cook, hoping I'll drop something. He even ate orange the other day. No apple seeds. They're toxic. |

If you are giving yogurt for probiotics make sure it specifies *live bacteria* and it's important to make sure there isn't any sweeteners added, especially artificial ones. Most of the flavored ones have something. My guys wait for the *oopsies* to drop too! LOL And heaven forbid if we don't share our bananas! |
Yogurt is fine :) you should chicken cause I've been doing that it really does help with their coat and keeps mine happy:):animal36 |
yogurt my Daisy is on a strict hepatic diet, and rarely does she get a treat, but I was eating yogurt with bananas to day and she would not leave me alone so I gave her a slice and it did not go over well, are bananas and yogurt wrong or was it just wrong for her, panic situation for me. |

But since she's also been on a fairly strict diet, this could be the common "sudden switch" effect that many dogs have when they are suddenly having their diet changed to something else. So it may just be a case of indigestion. Just my thought on the subject ^^; |
