Can Yorkies have Salami?
 
I know there's this huge list of things dogs can't eat but I was wondering if anyone knows if Salami is okay? My husband was making a sandwich and thought Teddy would like a piece (of course he loved it)! :rolleyes:

Don't know...does salami have pork in it? also, the spices will probably upset the tummy

I've given Bailey small pieces before, he LOVES it,, ( but what doesn't he?!)
It is actually one of the few things the cat will fight him for,,but Bailey always wins.

Well, I dont know, but if salami is anything like sausage, I would say no because of a case that I saw on emergency vets. This poor pup had been given sausage and it got him all clogged up inside and his insides became all inflamed and swollen and he didnt make it. Hope this helps some. :animal36

Ham? I don't think ham is good for a dog. I know that dogs can not have any pork what so ever.

Salami is hi fat and hi spice! No way would I give a Yorkie even a teensy piece of it. Maybe his daddy could make a doggy treat sandwich and give him a real doggy treat..Just kiddin'! But, really NO salami or other spicy product of any kind-pork or otherwise, please..

I think that if you give them a tiny bit it won't hurt them. I have always given my moochers throughout the years just about anything within reason. Nothing with a lot of fat or spices and they all did just fine. I wouldn't give them a whole sandwich but tiny treats I have always given...

Nope...no salami and no ham...no pork...really just boiled chicken.....I don't even feed mine beef of any kind. Really just sticking to real high quality dog food is best for our little yorkies with the sensitive digestive tracts. :)

Trixie just ate some chili...does that count? Walked out of the room for 2 seconds and came back and that stinker was on the table. :eek: Don't know what possessed her to do that...you would think we were starving her :rolleyes:

If I give my two any thing like that its only a very small bite or two. and I know its not good for them. My hubby gave them cut up fatty roast once and they was sick for 3 days , They are not to have that again.

Mason is very allergic to Ham/Pork he gets itchy and his ears get all red inside
