Baking soda & Baking powder are Extremely Toxic There are so may things that can be harmful to our pups and these are two more things that I found out that is toxic to our dogs. Thankfully baking is not one of my strong suits so doubt that there will ever be an opportunity for them to come in contact with it. But for those of you who may use it on a regular basic Please be careful. Both: Baking soda & Baking powder are extremely Toxic: The article explains what to do in case of ingestion and emergency situation. What Should I Do If My Dog Eats Baking Soda? | eHow |
So, I went to that link, read the story and then noticed additional stories listed to the right..... this one clashes slightly... just slightly.. found it amusing: How to Use Baking Soda for Dog Toothpaste | eHow  |
Omg.... uh yea I would have to agree ! |
Baking soda is toxic if ingested straight and in quantity. If someone has used a little to brush a dog's teeth, no need to panic. I would stick to toothpaste made for dogs that may or may not contain small quantities. |

Never even considered using it for brushing their teeth although I have used it on my own. That and a little hydrogen peroxide made into a paste whitens them right up. :D |

Yikes! We used to occasionally brush our dogs teeth with a bit of baking soda to whiten them. Never had heard it was potentially toxic and deadly!!! GTK! Thanks. |
Thanks for posting I always sprinkle baking soda over and accidents to remove odors but I'm careful to keep my baby away. But we definitely keep this in mind when cleaning. |

Now whether the HP will stain your carpet or not .... didn't get to that part. |
I may have to test that in a small spot |
Me too if we have an accident but mine are pretty good they do have their moments. Let me know what happens. :) |
I will thank you for the tip |
Yep, no problem ! :) |
Hydrogen peroxide will bleach your carpet if you let it sit too long. It will also bleach your clothing if you spill it. |
