My yorkshire having poop problem's Chibi is 2 years old not spayed until next month she did give birth last year. Chibi is not poop right seems she having hard time. while she trying get poop out she starts to walk while poop. after no poop she drag her bottom on the ground. a month ago she was stress not sure why she act like was seizure. When Chibi gave birth last thanksgiving 4 days later she started act weird then fell to floor, Vet said she had lake of calcium which almost killed her. Not sure if all this related. Maybe I should just get her to Vet just make sure. She was there recently and was told she was healthy, But I am worried that she having this issue not sure how I can help her. |
I think you are right to get her to the vet especially since she has had a relatively recent and concerning history. It could be something as simply solved as impacted anal glands but late November was not long ago and there are a lot if potentially associated health risks - I would trust your gut and head to the vet to be safe. Welcome to yt btw :) |
The only way to be 100% sure is getting checked by a vet, of course. She may only be constipated. My dogs drag their bottoms on the ground as well when aren't able to poop normally. Make sure her anal area is nicely trimmed as long hairs can aggravate constipation. Also make her drink as much fluids as possible. One of my dogs gets constipated often because she doesn't like drinking much water. I also heard that punken can help with constipation. Right now, while you decide to see a vet, keep her well hydrated, clean her bottom, trim etc Good luck! |
I would get her checked out. But it could be just constipation. Put a little plain canned pumpkin in her food. It will help. Also make sure se has lot of clean water. |
First, I think she needs to see a vet, so please do see one. What is she eating, is she eating kibble? If yes, I'd switch her to a canned/moist food and/or add water to her kibble so that she gets more moisture. She sounds like she is either constipated or she is having trouble w/ her anal glands. The vet may need to express her glands. What happened to her litter, btw? |
