My grandsons Yorkie is sick I am very worried about my grandsons Yorkie Evra (she is in my avatar in a pic with Alfie) She is just over a year old and a teapot size, I would say she is about 10-12lbs maybe heavier, she is a real character, very active and can jump into your arms. I have always been a little suspicious that she is full bred as she was bought from the back of a car a few months after we got Alfie, no papers and I think she look a Little cairn. Anyway, Evra started fitting on Friday and went to the emergency vet, my grandson stayed with us this weekend as he often does so does not know any of this h is 10. The vet kept her overnight, but it seems they don't really know what is wrong, they think she could be epileptic, has ingested poison or maybe got heartworm from a slug (I don't think she gets monthly treatment) She is for the minute being treated for epilepsy. She was back at home yesterday and seems to be picking up but still staggering a bit. I will let you all know how she gets on but just very worried that there is something seriously wrong with her. |
Bless her heart. Sending prayers she is ok. |
Oh dear! Hope she pulls through. Praying for Evra... |
Oh no. Sending good thoughts to Evra |

My ole Girl had seizures her whole life. Not real bad ones, but they were uncomfortable to watch. I never gave her the medicine, made her too loopy. I really believe the seizures were brought on by her cheap food and vaccinations (I know, big controversy). Once I started feeding her raw the seizures stopped and she lived 2 more years. I don't think there is a test to determine why these dogs have seizures. As long as there is no underlying condition (tumors), then there isn't any reason to worry about them. This is only my opinion after 16 years of owning a poodle that had them for no apparent reason. And not seeing her but from your description and my experience with the seizure meds, her stumbling is from the meds, not the seizures. |

So glad she's doing better! |
So glad to hear she is (appearantly) doing well :) I have five young children and they would be devestated if anything happened to our girl- my heart is Melty at the thought of an animal loving ten year old boy ( 2 girls ten and twelve and three boys 7,5 and 3) lilah is like our littlest baby sister and even my youngest treats her like the gentle princess she is. Best wishes :) |
