heart worm preventative recomendations for 5 month old What heart worm preventative would you all recommend for a 5 month old yorkie? She weighs around 3-3.5 lbs. There are so many to choose from and since she is so small, I want to be careful that she doesn't get too high of a dosage. Thank you all in advance for your advice! Beth |
My pups aren't as small as yours (8 and 9 pounds) but we use Sentinel and have not had any issues. It protects against several different types of worms and kills flea eggs. At my vet office, you can also get a rebate if you buy a 6 or 12 month supply which is also nice since it is pricier than other HW meds. |
Mine get Sentinel monthly. One of mine is 3 pounds and she does just fine. |
Sentinel |
Thank you for your replies! That is what I will go with. :) |
my 8# 2 yr old pup is on sentinel, as he threw up the trifexis. Does anyone know where to buy Sentinel online for a good price and without Rx, I imagine my vet will charge me to write one and its $70 for 6 mths there. Thanks for any feedback. |

I use Heartgard Plus and it is prescribed by our vet! You can not buy it without a script from a vet! |
