ear infection? We took our guy to the groomer and she said his one year looked like it had a little yeast in it, and looked a bit red. He is acting normal and we don't notice a smell. IS this something we can fix with ear drops or should we take him in? |
I would say he needs to have it looked at by the vet. |
I agree, take him in to see the vet. Ear infections can turn into a big problem if not treated. Wishing your little guy well. |
I think your pup also had the red eye? Maybe it would be best to take him to the vet for a check up, for both his ear & eye before it becomes a bigger problem. Hope all goes well! |
I would take him to the vet, let them check it out, just in case. It could be just a small ear infection but you dont want it getting worse. |
My doggie also has an ear infection. You should take him to the vet so they can give you something to medicate it |
What type of food are you feeding him? Generally something is usually wrong on the inside and manifests it's self on the outside as ear infections or allergies, from what I understand most issues start in the digestive system. Often medicating just gets rid of the symptoms temporarily and the problem recurrs. I would have a chat with your vet about it before medicating. Coconut oil is good for ear infections and some organic apple cider vinegar in the food for a week. |
I asked my group about this and got this response for you. "It depends what kind of infection you are dealing with! If its yeasty, I would use a combination of grapefruit seed extract (to treat) and coconut oil (to clean). I would also boost the immune system with some Sunday sundae, and colostrum. For a deeper or bacterial infection, I would use a combination of colloidal silver (to treat) and coconut oil (to clean) !" |
Another one I have a dog with chronic ear infections due to allergies. I take 3 onces of olive oil and peel a garlic clove. Let the clove sit in oil for 24 hours, then take out clove. I then use strongly Black tea (like red rose) and rinse ear out and then take q-tip dipped in oil mix and drip 3 dops of oil in ear. If dog doesn't like to sit still, then light roll q-tip against ear canal. This will clear up infection in about3 days. After cleared up, get Seagreens powder from holistic blend and put in food everyday and you will notice no more ear infections. |
One more suggestion If it was summer I would suggest getting some mullein and adding to this mixture. Works amazing on any ear infections. The Mullein is known for its ear healing My Top Ten Indispensable Herbs for Dogs(updated) | ThePossibleCanine |
