Acana Small Puppy or Regionals for 10 week old Hey guys, we'll be getting our puppy soon and she'll be 10 weeks old when we'll be getting her. Being in Canada and trying to get some decent food for her I came to conclusion to try Acana, however I'm not sure which one to try for her. I recently stopped by our local pet store and the owner said that many people feed their puppies Acana Regionals. If I remember correctly she said that Puppy food is richer in fat, and might get the dog to gain weight more, this was a month ago, so I don't remember correctly if that's exactly what she said. Currently she's on Royal Canine, so I'm thinking which one to switch her to. |
We don't get the Acana Small Breed Puppy formula here in the States so we have never tried it but I would lean toward using something from the Regional line or even the Chicken and Burbank Potato (it's an all life stages formula and pretty similar to the SB puppy) just because the SB puppy formula seems a little higher in fat than I'd prefer to feed...but I don't think it'll make a huge difference picking one over the other.... both look good and are high quality foods. I will say that we've fed several of the dogs in our family from the Acana Regionals line and their Chicken and Burbank Potato and they've done well with it. Acana is so expensive here (compared to online) so I haven't fed it in a while but the Chicken/Burbank is reasonably priced, if that is a concern. |
