In heat I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. My baby girl is 9 months and I'm not sure if the signs that I'm seeing are signs of her heat cycle coming. The signs are a lot of whining , a lot of nesting , a lot of humping everything in sight and a lot of licking herself. Are these signs ? Is there anything I should do ? I haven't seen any blood yet. I emailed the vet and they always want to freak you out to bring them in to say she's just about to start her cycle . Please help 🙏🙏🙏 |
She is the right age for her cycles to start and the behavior she is showing could easily be signs of her impending heat cycle.....keep her away from any intact males!!!! She is way too young to be bred....this is like a baby having babies, so dont let her breed! This is when all these "accidents" happen, so play it safe and prevent a problem! |

Thank you and I will surely keep her inside thank you so much ! Will she been in pain from being in heat? Is there anything I need to do to comfort her? |
No, she isnt in any pain I dont think....I have never had one that seemed to be in pain.....but as she gets further into her heat cycle, she is going to get, as my grandma used to say, "run mad over the boys", so you not only have to watch those "nasty little boys", you are going to have to keep her COMPLETELY away from ANY intact males....painties, diapers, and belly bands DO NOT WORK!!! We have more people on here with little females that got bred because they thought panties and belly bands were a method of birth control....WRONG!!!!! And the instinct to breed in an intact male and female is very, very strong...they will tie thru a fence, thru a gate, thru a hole in a box!!! What one doesnt think of, the other one will!! |
Okay it's pretty cold here so she doesn't like being out anyway but I will watch her extra close! We have boy neighbors they play with her but I will be sure to keep her in! Besides the boys is there any thing else I should know ?? |
