Interesting Vaccination Article I just wanted to share this article as it has some really good information. 3 Puppy Vaccination Mistakes: Too Early, Too Often, Too Much | Dogs Naturally Magazine |
Very interesting, thanks for sharing. |
Thanks for sharing this. I will share this with Dr.Dodd and see for my own personal information, what she thinks of this concept. I like the idea of giving just ONE puppy shot, but ONLY if my pups would in reality be protected. |
Great article, very well written and thorough. It tells the truth on just how dangerous a measly little vaccine shot can be. One thing that was really exciting in that article is the new, less expensive alternative in-house testing for titers: An Inexpensive Tool To Reduce Pet Vaccinations | Dogs Naturally Magazine |
I read this article long before I got Gunner. He will be getting only one more Parvo vaccination and because it is law, he will get a rabies vaccination. If you titer there is no reason to vaccinate every three years. I know friends that vaccinate every year and they can't figure out why their dogs have so many autoimmune diseases! |
Here is a prime example of my vets mentality on this subject. When I took Piper in for her Rabies vac because that's what the breeder/rescuer said she didn't have have yet. My vet asked if I had documentation that she had been vaccinated for the 7 way or whatever it is they do and I told her that the breeder said that she had been but I didn't have proof. She said, "Well she needs to be done again so we know and if she has already been vaccinated it's not going to hurt her one bit." This is what leads me to believe that some vets go straight by the school textbooks (which are usually produced by dog food and drug companies) opposed to doing the research and using that information to better care for our pets. Thank you for posting this. Titering is the way to go for sure. I just wish it was not so expensive to do. |
