As far as it being associated with diamond products... I think it is just made at the diamond plant. I am not 100% sure on that though. I've heard others who've had a great experience with this food though. |
Thanks so much for your reply. I definitely do Not Need and/or Want Giant Stinky Poos. LOL!!!! Am feeding Orijen right now but am worried it may be too much protein. My girl isn't all that active... |
dog Try wellness. I really like this high quality food. Add a little wet food to it and it is tasty. |

TOTW is a Diamond food. I don't feed it because of Diamond's past history and also because ALL Diamond foods and ALL foods manufactured by Diamond gave a couple of my dogs the most horrible gas! If you feel Orijen is too high protein for your dog, you might try Acana. Acana is made by Champion, the same company that makes Orijen. Another good food is Horizon Legacy, and also Amicus, both of which are made by Horizon. Fromm is also very good. |
Rocco was on Wellness, but had runny, gunky eyes. I switched him to TOTW and he loves it, his eyes are not runny, and he has very regular bowel movements. |
Wellness also has food made in diamond plants and has had recalls. One of the best things to do is look at the company and how they handle recalls and why they had he recalls. |
I think Wellness stopped all their business w/Diamond after the recall fiasco. My guys did well on the Wellness Core lines years ago, then I switched them to Acana Grasslands...got sick of cutting the hard big kibbles w/scissors & moved onto something else, can't remember. Now they're eating Canine Caviar Open Sky & Lamb & Pearl Millet. Just waiting for Grandma Lucy's to get delivered along w/Party Animal canned food (which they love), wanna give them a break from kibble. They were also eating premade raw but Mimi refuses to eat it now although she loved it & Turbo spits some parts out & eats the other. There's many choices out there, hope you'll find something suitable for your girl. |
We fed TOTW pacific stream (only) and were very happy- even with the way they handled the recall, but after the second recall we moved on to a new food- Earthborn Holistics, Coastal Catch is as similar to the TOTW that I could find (we got stuck switching over quickly!)The dogs loved arcana and but Ziva gained weight on it so fast we have just stayed with the earthborn. |
I definitely recommend the Wellness Core...especially the Ocean variety. I don't have too much experience with TOTW...I bought a couple cans of it a while ago and was not terribly impressed with the quality for the price so we don't use it but I don't know about the kibble. |
All dogs react differently to different foods. Wish my puppy would have done well with wellness. After I started him on wellness he had major bubbles in his stomach. I could hear them even when he just sat next to me. He went through half the bag until I finally switched him to blue buffalo. But since then the bubbles in his stomach still are still there. They never went away. Does anyone know what this could mean or why it happened? |
